NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS: Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

LEVEL OF CLEARANCE/INVESTIGATION: MUST POSSESS A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS : To obtain the required AFSC, acceptance of this position requires a minimum ASVAB Score of 24 in the General Area. ASVAB scores will not be required to apply for the position, however applicant must obtain required ASVAB scores prior to acceptance of the position. The applicant must verify their scores with their Military Personnel Flight/ Military Personnel Office.

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position: A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.
DUTIES: Works with HR Specialists in the HRO to accomplish a wide range of human resources transactions. Advises, and provides comprehensive procedural and technical guidance to managers and supervisors in the areas of recruitment, placement, separation, and retirement. Provides information to managers and supervisors regarding issues of ARNG/ANG technician occupations and the effects of specific regulations or instructions on anticipated human resources actions. Assists managers and supervisors in resolving AGR problems relative exclusively to AGR tours in day-to-day operations. Provides assistance and information pertaining to employee relations and labor relations matters to managers, supervisors, union officials and technicians on moderately complex problems of employee conduct or reorganizations, leave problems, indebtedness, union contracts, agreements and the full range of procedural requirements for filing grievances, appeals, and complaints. Provides detailed guidance or specific information on benefits and services including, but not limited to: thrift savings plans, life insurance, health insurance open seasons, leave and pay inquiries. Maintains data concerning technician and AGR manning documents, including listings of employees against positions .

Experience: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.

KNOWLEDGE of automated system(s) supporting civilian and military human resources programs and the ability to retrieve data for studies, projects, analytical reports.
ABILITY to use personal computers with different software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Form Flow, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Power Point).
